5 Ways to Book Your Parking for Henley Royal Regatta 2027

Parking at Henley Royal Regatta is best planned in advance. The roads around Henley-on-Thames are narrow, and demand is high throughout all six days, so a little preparation makes the difference between a smooth, stress-free arrival and a frustrating wait in traffic. Remenham Farm sits right at the Start Line, so we see how arrivals unfold across the week. Here is our guide to parking for Henley Royal Regatta 2027, running from 29 June to 4 July.

1. Book Parking in Advance

Henley Royal Regatta releases official car parking in designated fields near the course, and spaces sell out. If you are planning to drive, this should be your first task rather than something to arrange after your enclosure tickets. Check the official Henley Royal Regatta website as soon as the 2027 details are released and book your space early.

If you would like an alternative, you can pre-book parking at Remenham Farm, just a short walk from the river. We offer 1-Day, 6-Day and Evening Parking Passes to suit how you plan to enjoy the Regatta. We always strongly recommend pre-booking car parking during Henley Royal Regatta week.

2. Arrive Early

It sounds obvious, but an early start makes a real difference. Arriving at 9am rather than 11am on a busy racing day is the difference between a relaxed walk to the riverside and a slow, stressful journey in traffic.

If you are travelling with a group, agree a departure time the evening before and confirm it in your group chat. Treat the early start as part of the occasion, and you will enjoy the whole day more.

3. Stay Overnight and Avoid the Journey Altogether

Many guests only consider this option after a difficult drive in, but it is often the simplest solution, particularly if you are travelling for more than an hour. Staying close to the course removes the parking question entirely and means you can enjoy the day without worrying about arrivals.

Our glamping at Remenham Farm is right on site, so you park once and walk to the Start Line in minutes. There is no circling country lanes in search of a space. We have written more about this in our guide to staying near Henley-on-Thames for the Regatta, but the principle is simple: overnight guests have a more relaxed day.

4. Use Park and Ride if Available

Henley-on-Thames is a small market town hosting a very large event, and space is always tight. At various points, the local council and Regatta organisers have introduced park and ride arrangements to ease pressure on the town centre. These vary from year to year, so please check what is available for 2027 before building it into your plans.

Park and ride does add a short journey at each end of the day, but it is a small price to pay compared with searching for a space on narrow roads that were never designed for this level of traffic.

5. Consider Arriving by Water, Bike or Train

This is not strictly a parking tip, but it belongs in any honest guide to getting to the Regatta. Henley-on-Thames has a railway station, with connections via Twyford. Cycling from the surrounding villages is a pleasure on a fine morning in late June or early July. And arriving by boat is, of course, quintessentially English.

What We’ve Noticed About How Guests Arrive

Over the years at Remenham Farm, the guests who arrive most stressed are almost always those who drove independently and underestimated both the journey time and the demand for parking. The guests who arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy the day have either stayed on site or planned their journey carefully in advance.
