Henley Royal Regatta 2027 runs from 29 June to 4 July, and if you are planning to arrive by water, the most important thing to know before you set off is that the racing course between Temple Island and the finish line is closed to general river traffic during racing hours. Arriving without a mooring plan means you may find yourself unable to reach the stretch of river you came for. Read the following guide on Mooring & Boating during Henley Regatta 2027.
1. Remenham Farm, Visitor Moorings at the Start Line
You are mooring right next to the Start Line, which means you will experience first-hand the race-day buzz, the commentary echoing across the water, the energy of crews about to launch as well as great access to our Pavilions Enclosure, The Barn Bar, and the picnic meadow.
Book ahead, though. These spots fill up faster than most people expect.
2. Mill Meadows, Henley
Located upstream of the course closure zone, Mill Meadows sits on the Henley bank and offers public moorings managed by the town, popular with day boats and smaller cruisers who do not need anything fancy. The walk into town and down to the finish line is roughly ten minutes on foot, which is honestly fine if what you care about most is the town-side enclosures rather than the Start end.
3. The Regatta Enclosure Riverbank
This stretch is worth seeing just on its own terms, because the row of moored boats along the Regatta Enclosure bank looks like a floating garden party. Access to moor here is tied to enclosure membership or a prior arrangement with the organisers, so if you already hold Regatta Enclosure tickets, it is worth contacting the Henley Royal Regatta office directly and asking about mooring availability.
4. Phyllis Court Club, Member and Guest Moorings
Phyllis Court Club sits immediately upstream of the finish line on the Oxfordshire bank, and honestly, if you know a member or are a member, this is one of the more relaxed ways to spend the day. Their own pontoon and a notably pleasant setup overall make it a comfortable base for the day.
5. Private Riverside Gardens, Hired Berth
A number of private homes along both banks hire out garden access and mooring rights during Regatta week, and the arrangements are informal, usually passed around through word of mouth or specialist charter companies. Prices vary a lot. Availability is limited in a way that sneaks up on you. Again, these options can get booked up very early.
6. Upstream Town Moorings Along Friday Street
Further public moorings stretch back along the Henley bank above Mill Meadows toward Friday Street, and these suit larger cruisers that need more length and do not mind a longer walk.
Deciding Which Is The Best Mooring Option For You
A town mooring at Mill Meadows is free or low-cost, puts you near the finish line, and does not require booking. Just turn up early enough. Remenham Farm moorings need to be booked ahead and will take you to the race start rather than the finish, but if you’re looking for a full day with great food and live music, then the Start Line at Remenham Farm is a great option.
